Maria Raga is the CEO of Depop. Since being promoted to the position in 2016 from VP of
Operations, she has presided over every element of the business from finance and engineering
to marketing and product.
An open and collaborative CEO, Maria is dedicated to her team, which has grown to 300+
employees in 4 offices worldwide in the last four years alone. Perhaps most importantly, since
she took over as CEO, she has raised close to $100M in funding, which has helped to grow and
nurture the community on Depop - now over 20 million users.
Prior to Depop, Maria held successively roles at Groupon and Privalia. Having graduated from
Insead MBA, Maria joined Bain & Company as a consultant.
Born in Valencia, Spain, Maria now resides in London with her husband and 3 children. In her
spare time, Maria enjoys connecting with Depop’s entrepreneurial Gen-Z constituency and
promoting women in the workplace.
Kimberly Kalb Baumgarten
Head of Marketing + User Experience, Houseparty | Marketing Director, Epic Games
Kimberly is a seasoned and experienced marketing professional. As a founding member of the Houseparty team, Kimberly has played an essential role from day one working alongside the company founders to build and scale the product for users around the globe. As of Head of Marketing and User Experience at Houseparty, Kimberly leads growth and innovative marketing efforts for the group video chat platform.
Kimberly oversees all marketing, partnership, trust & safety, and user support efforts that have driven and continue to drive Houseparty’s rapid popularity. In her role, Kimberly is responsible for evangelizing Houseparty as the most meaningful way for people to connect when physically apart. In addition to her work on Houseparty, Kimberly is also a Marketing Director for Epic Games, the creator of the widely popular Fortnite game. Kimberly leads partnerships with major social media and entertainment brands including NFL, TikTok, Discovery Channel, Mattel, Pepsi and more.
Before joining Houseparty, Kimberly ran partnerships and led marketing efforts for Meerkat, a tech startup that had immediate success and was widely acclaimed for its innovative approach to live video streaming. She came to Meerkat from Tumblr, HBO and NBCUniversal, where she built upon her love of entertainment through various high profile marketing and partnership roles.
Kimberly attended the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.S. in Economics and a B.S. in Management and Finance from the Wharton School of Business. She also received her MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Senior Engineering Manager at Workday
Karina Sobhani is a Senior Engineering Manager at Workday leading a shared team of engineers within an organization that’s focused on building an engaging and intuitive employee experience for the end user. After graduating from Cornell University in 2013, Karina joined Workday. She was the first engineer hired on a team tasked with building the first vertical at Workday, a Student System to help Students do everything from applying for financial aid, to checking their grades, to paying their bills. The team was very much like a start-up, and Karina contributed to the growth both in terms of the codebase as well as the people. After a year and a half of rapid growth on the team, Karina started managing a team and then later an organization of engineers across Development and Quality Assurance. Karina enjoys problem solving and building happy, inclusive, motivated, and high-performing teams.
Managing Partner at Basecamp Fund
Andrea is a Managing Partner at Basecamp Fund who has worked with early and growth-stage companies both as an investor and an operator. She focuses on investments in b2b and enterprise companies as well as fintech, though looks at any company with a disruptive business model.
Prior to Basecamp, she was an investor at Fika Ventures and Expa, the venture studio started by the founder of Uber. At Expa she helped manage the firm’s early stage practice investing in both consumer and b2b companies such as Statespace, Sleeper and Radar.
Prior to venture, Andrea was on the other side of the table operating at technology companies both large and small. She was an early employee of proptech company VTS before founding Loop, a two-sided marketplace allowing tenants of multifamily residential buildings to leverage their collective buying power when purchasing services and products for the home. She started her career in commercial real estate at CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE:CBRE), a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company and the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm.
Andrea holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
